Ed Henry needs a waaaahmbulance

CNN's senior White House correspondent has, as the kids say, been served. Now he needs to man up and STFU.
"I went hard on the AIG question," he breathlessly recalls. (Ha! He said "hard on.")

Asked and answered? That's not how Ed sees it: "The president, like any good politician, decided to pick and choose what to answer. So he... ignored the AIG stuff."

Um, no, bitch. That's not what happened. Watch the clip again.

Ed Henry's question of what took President Obama “so long” to comment on the AIG bonuses was not a question of substance, it was a question reeking of sophomoric “gotcha” journalism that was a flat issue. I believe he really squandered an opportunity to ask anything at least insightful, and he made himself look ill prepared and not very intelligent.

If on the scoreboard of making an important political figure uncomfortable seemed most important, then he indeed did his job; but in terms of probing important facts, he failed miserably. My family and friends watching the Presidential news conference wondered what on earth he could have been thinking to approach the many important issues of the AIG bonuses by that silly question, which was made worse when he would not let it go and follow up with a more thoughtful (and probing) one.

thank god people actually saw it this way. Ed Henry was just doing some self service here. The thing is ... the president is not in a position to pop off at the mouth on things the minute they happen. He takes a measured approach always.
As he should. His position is very delicate... he needs to meet with his team that is already in thier seperate war rooms handling every issue on the agenda right now. They needed to gather, brainstorm, let the situation settle then bring a response... this is leadership. Ed Henry and CNN know he got served which is why they dont activate thier nifty little comments feature on the story. WHat happened to constructive criticism? I impart knowledge to you while learning your position as well in a spirit of togetherness. I mean isnt Obama working for us all.. even the press core. Mr. Henry.. how bout you stop serving yourself by acting like a patriot "doing your job" and be a real patiot and use your media position to help Obama push the rock forward of his vision that will help us all.
