"For too long in our class of 50, Texas has been the stupid kid who eats paste and smells like pee"

The beauty of it is that we Texans won't have to pay taxes -- we'll just charge the rest of you $10 a gallon for gas.

Yeah, everyone else can sit and laugh and make fun of how "backward" Texas is but when the industries choose a place to call home, a lot of them come here, and if they were to leave, states like NY and CA wouldn't have such a pool of national funds to take care of their liberal programs anymore. Plus, like previously mentioned, a lot of natural resources that run the country come from here too so keep laughing all you want when your prices skyrocket if they leave.

Dear Anonymous (brave name, by the way): You're a fool. Texas gets more federal money than California and NY ever will, per capita. Calfornians and New Yorkers pay more in taxes to support you dumbass redneck polluters than anyone else in the nation. So while you're choking to death on your industrial waste, think about the treatments you're getting, paid for by the people of California and New York. You're welcome.

My God people, from a fellow Texan, try to not to sound so damn dumb. $10 for our gas? Yes, the US will be happy to not embargo. Do you think any of the large businesses that headquarters out of Texas would not leave immediately at the threat of pissing off their biggest consumers. Not to mention the billions of dollars the state receives from the federal government, yeah we don;t need that. All the damn immigrants I hear people worrying about, yeah, the state isn't the one who pays for the border control. All of our large shipping ports, Texas doesn't own the vast majority of them, just the right to tax them.

Actually we won't be buying gas we'll be running electric cars since the only reason they don't exist is because of Oil Lobbyists from Texas ass raping america every time we try to do something environmentally positive.

Actually 75% of Texans in a recent poll thought the idea of succeeding was dumb. So it's not what most Texans want. But make fun of this place all you want. Currently Texas has the most healthcare research institutions in the world, which means you are healthier because of this dumb state. The Port of Houston is the busiest port in the US. Which means most of the stuff you buy from overseas comes through this dumb state. They also have the second highest GSP in the US. And they hold the HQs to the most fortune 500 companies in the country. Not to mention the energy. Not just oil either, Texas produces more energy from wind farms than any other state in the country.

So this begs the question. If Texas is so dumb, why are you guys losing to them? You are losing to the stupid kid who eats paste and smells like pee.

Not an issue of courage, just too lazy to register.

The previous poster is correct, Texans have no desire to secede and whether Democrat or Republican are the most patriotic people in the country. If we have smoggy skies, it's caused principally by trying to supply the rest of the country what it needs. When it comes to green energy, no one comes close -- have you looked at Texas' wind production?

And also the texas is one of the most prosperous states because in thier state Constitution stricly states that the govoner or the state senate can not make a bugit that puts the state into a deficit

ps and what about the football if youve never been to a Texas town on a Fall friday night then your missing a real intense sport

Yes, it's anonymous, I don't feel like thinking up something clever. I've a Texan, and as a Sailor I've lived everywhere from Chicago to Pensacola, Washington D.C. and everywhere in between. No matter where you are at, you're going to find good and bad. New York goes through politicians like Bush does colorings books and Illinois still has Governors dumb enough to try selling political seats. I've never been a fan of Perry, and alot of us here aren't. At the end of the day it's imperative to understand that there is just as much good here is bad, a two-minute meme isn't going to change that.

Texas has its cool parts and people but its the uneducated, angry ones that make the most noise. It also doesn't help that their governor makes un-American and unpatriotic comments or produced a President that brought the whole country into a tailspin. To y'all defensive Texans, get a sense of humor and learn to poke fun at yourself. Its fun to mess with Texas.

Long Beach in CA is actually the busiest port in the country....not Houston. Sorry.
