Well said. I want to smack those fucking granny glasses off Whoopi Goldberg's bloated mug, and kick the ass of any windbag shit-for-brains with the temerity to suggest that Roman Polanski deserves to go free. He gave to charity. He mentored other artists. Yes. Yes he did. He also drugged and sodomized a helpless, protesting child.
Right now, I kinda get what Mike Huckabee and other conservatives say about Hollywood liberals. Yes, the victim herself has moved on and processed the trauma. But let any of these Polanski apologist scumbags sit for five minutes with other abuse victims who haven't had the benefit of time and therapy, and see how they feel.
And fuck it all, for Whoppi Goldberg - one of Glenn Beck's most visible and vocal critics - to have pulled something like this is just fucking horrible. Thanks a lot, you narcissistic fatass.
Yeah, the rallying cry of, "But he's a genius!" doesn't really absolve him of kiddie rape. I'm not taking away his achievements as a director, but I find the lack of empathy in his supporters for the victim a bit disturbing.
And Woody Allen as a character witness isn't exactly helping Polanski's case.
