An open letter to Bill Marriott

Hey Bill!

First off - I'm a huge fan. The spa at Le Merigot in Santa Monica? Amazing. And yours is one of the few hotel chains whose alleged "free in-room Wi-Fi" actually works. So, high marks on those scores!

But I have a question: I noticed that your beautiful New York Marriott Downtown will host Bill Keller's prayer services in advance of his planned "9/11 Christian Center." Keller, as you may or may not know, has said in the past that Mormons and gay people are doomed to an eternity in hell. He has also mentioned from time to time that Islam is a religion for pedophiles.

I bring up that last point because of the recent kerfuffle surrounding the establishment of a Muslim community center in the same neighborhood as - forgive me if I sound fawning - your wonderful hostelry. Some would suggest that this is an affront to the memory of those who lost their lives in the terror attacks of September 11, 2001.

Your organization has not yet offered an opinion on the matter. But since you are extending your (sorry - I'm almost embarrassed at this point) exceedingly thoughtful hospitality to an anti-Muslim prayer group just blocks from the proposed site, I'm sure you can understand my curiosity.

Of course I'm confident that you will offer your personal and corporate support to the proposed Muslim community center, in the interest of fair-mindedness. Certainly no business with a record of excellence such as the one yours enjoys would ever consider taking the side of a bigoted, cousin-humping, snake-handling, clog-dancing freak of an ostentatiously pious Christianist hypocrite over a community of earnestly well-meaning Muslims.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Warmly,

John Walsh

P.S. - Congrats on not siring a bunch of coked-out whores like that Hilton fella seems to have done! Lulz.

There's only one kind of "job" Rick Perry's interested in

Photoshop contest? Eh, nah, QED.

Governor Rick Perry recently interrupted everybody's lunch to tell them that they have a choice: jobs, or gay marriage.

"There is still a land of opportunity, friends — it's called Texas," Perry said. "We're creating more jobs than any other state in the nation. ... Would you rather live in a state like this, or in a state where a man can marry a man?"

News poop

Okay, awesome! The Ground Zero Islamist Caliphate Anti-Semitic Un-American Mosque or Something is on in NYC. (And you can donate to it here, just to piss off any assholes you might be related to.)

And it's Barack Obama's birthday, and Judge Walker got him some gay marriage. But Republicans are cheap and just sent cards.

Also, Missouri doesn't want you to "show [them]" any health care reform. Blarg blarg fascism blarg Glenn Beck blarg.
